Yaw Dabo was born at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on July 6, 1998. However, he was raised in Jumapo, Koforidua, in the Eastern Region. He left Jumapo for Kumasi when he was fifteen and had completed his junior high school education.
Dabo is a native of Adukrom, a town in the Eastern Region. His father is from Wadie adwumakase, Ashanti Region, and his mother comes from Adukrom, Eastern Region.

Career
Yaw Dabo was part of a drama club in School. After completing his Junior High School education, Yaw decided to go into acting. So he left the Eastern Region at age fifteen to the Ashanti Region, where he could join the Kumawood industry and pursue his movie career. He went to live with a Kumawood actor named Yaw Marfo (Santo), whom he friended when he and other stars came to the Eastern Region to shoot a series titled “Midterm Trouble.”
Dabo was living with Santo, and the two started selling Movie CDs. Later, he met Director Jones Agyemang, who decided he would help him become a movie star. Dabo’s first movie he featured was Akwentifuo, with stars like Kwadwo Nkansah lil win. He starred in different movies by Director Jones before working with other filmmakers in the Kumawood industry. He has starred in over thirty movies now and has received some awards.
