Abraham Attah is a Ghanaian International award-winning actor and the founder of the Abraham Attah Foundation. He is best known for playing the lead role of child soldier “Agu” opposite Idris Elba in Beast of No Nation, a 2015 American war drama film shot in Ghana and directed by American filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga. In 2015, He won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival for his role in “Beast of No Nation.” In 2017, He was named the Ambassador for Free Senior High School programme in Ghana.

Acting Journey
Growing up, acting wasn’t part of Abraham Attah’s dreams. He loved to rap, play football, and do business so he wanted to become a musician, a footballer, or a businessman.
Abraham used to rap to his schoolmates and play football with them at Ashaiman No. 2 government school where he had his basic education. He also hawked gum and mentos on the streets of Ashaiman to support his parents while he was going to school.
His acting journey began in 2015 after he was discovered by casting director Harrison Nesbit who was scouting for young talents for the American war drama film “Beast of No Nation.” He was in school on a Friday playing football with his mates when Harrison who watched them play for some time asked them to come and showcase their talent to him which they did.
Attah sang Ghanaian singer Joey B’s Tonga song featuring rapper Sarkodie. Three weeks later, Nesbit returned to his school and selected him and some of his mates for an audition to feature in Beast of No Nation movie.
After a series of auditions, Abraham Attah was picked by American filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga for the lead role of child soldier “Agu” opposite Idris Elba in his Beast of No Nation film. The movie was shot in Ghana and Abraham was 14 years old when he starred in Beast of No Nation. He achieved international fame after his role in his debut film Beast of No Nation.
