Akyere has starred in films such as Adanfo Bone, Abusua Nni Nkae, Fa ye Mpaebo, and The Superstar. She has produced movies like Ghetto Bread, and currently, she is the host of “Way Back,” a Celeb talk show on Onua TV.

Early Life & Background
Akyere Bruwaa was born in Madina, Accra, on January 1, 1972. She is 52 years old and hails from Gomoa Dago in the Central Region. Akyere is the first child of her parents. She has four brothers and one sister. Her father, Mr. Donkoh, of blessed memory, is from Apam, and her mother, Madam Lydia Aba Esanuwa Donkoh, is from Gomoa Dago. These two towns are in the Central Region. Bruwaa lost her father when she was 13 years old.

Madam Lydia Esanuwa Donkoh and the late Mr. Donkoh are the parents of actress Akyere Bruwaa. Esanuwaa Donkor is a baker, and the late Mr. Donkoh was a local contractor and a Soap Manufacturer. Akyere’s father was a member of the Pentecost Church in Madina, and he was part of the local contractors that built the Pentecost Hospital in Madina, the University of Ghana, and other hospitals in Accra.

Husband & Children
Akyere has two children (Sons). She gave birth at age 17 to her first son after completing Form 4, then got married to her baby daddy and later had her second child. However, after eight solid years as a couple, Akyere and her husband divorced, and she hasn’t married again or gone into another relationship. Her two sons are adults now.

Career
Akyere Bruwaa started acting when she was young. She used to feature in plays at Sunday School in Church (Church of Pentecost). She began her professional movie journey in 1995 after she became friends with Ama Pat, a lady who was part of a concert party Group at the Art Centre in Accra who introduced her to actor Paa George.
Bruwaa was trained by Paa George. She joined his Ebibiman Concert Party Group and started acting in stage plays (Concert Party). Many years later, after she had traveled to different places in Ghana to perform with the Ebibiman Concert Party Group, in 2009, Akyere moved to Kumasi, where she commenced her movie career. She was living with Director BATMAN and Kwadwo Nkansah in Kumasi. She started working with BATMAN and Danfo BA, and the first film she starred in was “Atara.”
Akyere Bruwaa worked with Director BATMAN for many years before working with other filmmakers like Jackson K. Bentum. Akyere is one of the most famous movie stars in Kumawood now, and she has starred in many Kumawood movies. Bruwaa is also a producer and has produced twenty-one films.
