Amerado was born on February 14, 1995, in North Suntreso, a suburb in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region of Ghana, to Madam Georgina and Mr. Kantanka. He lost his father when he was in Senior High School. Amerado grew up in Kumasi. He is a native of Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, and he is the first child and the only male among his parent’s two children. He is a 28 years old rapper and hip hop artiste.

Career
Amerado Burner started his rap career and songwriting journey in high school. He used to perform during entertainment programs at the KNUST Senior High School in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, where he had his high school education.
After completing SHS, he got admission to the Akrokerri College of Education in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region of Ghana. However, he had no one to support him in his education, so his uncle got him a job at the Living Waters Hospital in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, where he worked in their records department for three years.
During the three years Amerado worked at the Living Waters Hospital, he was still pursuing his music career. He used to go and freestyle on different radio stations in Kumasi and also go to the studio to record. He quit his job as a record keeper after he decided to go into full-time music.
In 2015, Amerado Burner placed third in a Freestyle competition at Solid FM in Kumasi, and he caught the attention of the CEO of MicBurnerz Music record label, Azee Ntwene, who was one of the Judges of the Solid FM Freestyle competition. He signed him to his record label, and at the time, Strongman was already on the label.
Around the 2016 election in Ghana, Derrick Nana Sarfo Kantanka was featured on a song by Mix Master Garzy intended to promote peace. The following year, he released his first song titled I AM, which Pulse Ghana included in their top 10 Ghanaian songs of January 2017. After, he dropped his first EP, dubbed “Rapmare,” in November 2017.
In 2018, Amerado released a single titled “Menpe.” His biggest exposure to the Ghana music industry was when he featured on Sarkodie’s hip-hop song “Biibi Ba” the same year. The song was nominated for the Best Hiphop Song of the Year at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
On August 8, 2019, Ghanaian Disc Jockey, DJ Black posted a controversial list of the country’s top 50 rappers, on which he placed Amerado in the forties. On October 1, 2020, Reggie Rockstone, an influential figure in the Ghanaian music genre hiplife, called Amerado one of the best rappers to ever come from Ghana. In the same 2020, Burner started “Yetee Nsem,” Ghana’s first news-casting rap series, and he went viral with each episode he made. He also joined Shatta Wale and other rappers in Kumasi to release Ahodwo Las Vegas.
In August 2021, he had a freestyle and interview session with Tim Westwood on Capital Xtra in London. GRM Daily reported his freestyle session as one of the best on the show. Amerado released his second extended Play Patience on October 26, 2021, featuring Black Sherif, Shatta Wale, Fameye, YPee, and Kweku Flick, with production from Azee Ntwene, Izjoe Beatz, Samsney and ItzCJ Madeit.
The Extended Play peaked at No. 1 on music streaming platforms Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube. The Patience EP was adjourned as the BEST EP at the 2022 3Music Awards. Amerado is the first Kumasi-based artist to win the Rapper of the Year award at the 3Music Awards. In May 2020, Audiomack listed Amerado in the Top 10 African Artists to look out for which also featured A-Reece, Nandy, Joey B, and others.
On 25 October 2022, Amerado released his debut studio album, G.I.N.A, which featured S1mba, Fameye, Eno Barony, Laioung, Efya, Gidochi, Lasmid and Epixode. According to a post published by Peacefmonline.com, Amerado is the first Kumasi rapper to win the Best Rapper award at the Ghana Music Awards and also, the first at the 3Music Awards.
