Early life

Berla Mundi was born in Accra, Ghana, on April 1, 1988. She grew up in North Kaneshie, Mataheko, and Teshie, all suburbs of Accra. Berla is the second child of two children. She is 35 years old and from Teshie in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

Educational Background

Berla finished her junior high at St. Theresa’s School in North Kaneshie, Accra. She proceeded to Achimota School for her high school education, and from there, she went to the University of Ghana Legon. She studied Linguistics and Psychology for her first Degree at the University of Ghana, and for her Master’s, she did Public Relations at the the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), now UniMAC. Mundi also studied French at Alliance Francais.

Career

Berla Mundi participated in the 2010 Miss Malaika beauty pageant when she was in Level 300 doing her first degree at the University of Ghana. She emerged as the second runner-up at the end of the Miss Malaika 2010 competition, and after she began her media Journey.

Berla did her National Service with Charter House, and after completing the service, there was an opportunity to work at GHOne TV, which was a new TV station established by Charterhouse at the time. She started working at GHOne TV, which is now a subsidiary of EIB Network as a voice-over artist before becoming the host of Daily Buzz, a five-minute Entertainment update on TV.

Later, She hosted TV programs like Rythmz live, Glitterati, and the late Afternoon Show on GhOne TV. While at GHONE TV, Berla hosted the red carpet event for Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2018 and Miss Malaika. In 2019, she joined the Media General family and currently works with TV3 Ghana, one of the stations belonging to Media General. She hosts the Day show and is co-host of New Day on TV3.

Apart from TV, Berla is also a radio presenter. She is the former co-presenter of the 3FMDrive on 3FM, which is a subsidiary of Media General. She has hosted several events in Ghana, including the 2021 Ghana Beauty Awards, the 2022 edition of the Global Citizen Festival, Accra, and co-hosted The EMY Africa Awards 2022.

Mundi is also an actress, and she made her film debut in 2018 in Before the Vows, a Ghanaian movie directed by Nicole Amarteifio and starring John Dumelo, Jeffery Forson, Nathaniel Simons, and others. She has starred in other films like Single, Married and Complicated.
