Bernice Akua Asare, popularly known as Bernice Asare, is a Ghanaian actress based in the Kumawood movie industry in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She is also a philanthropist and a former host of W’aha Me, a talk show on Agyapa TV. She was born on Wednesday, May 16, 1990, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and was raised by her grandmother (father’s mother).
She is 33 years old and a native of Ejisu Onwe in the Ashanti Region. Bernice had her primary education at Kings International School in Kumasi and went to Presbyterian Senior High School in Kumasi for her high school education. She furthered to the Institute of Business Management & Journalism in Kumasi. She wanted to become a journalist.
Her professional acting career began in 2011. However, she started acting at a young age. After completing high school, Bernice worked as an attendant at an internet cafe at Oforikrom in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, where she met Zack GH, who worked with producer Jackson K. Bentum, and he decided to help her become a professional actress.

Bernice had the opportunity to feature in her first movie in 2011, produced by Ghanaian movie director and producer Jackson K. Bentum, and played a short role alongside Kumawood stars like Ellen Kyei White. Although it wasn’t easy for her to play that role, she did her best, and after her first film, she starred in her second movie titled “Ghost,” this movie brought her to the limelight.
She has since starred in many Kumawood movies in Ghana, which include Azonto Ghost, Adofo Asa, Psalm 23, Broken Trust, One Bad Day, Mirror Girl, Instagram Police, Yese Yese, and Nyame Akoa. In 2021, she became the host of W’aha Me, a talk show on Agyapa TV in Kumasi, joining a host of Kumawood stars who are also TV presenters.
Asare Bernice was nominated in the Female Presenter of the Year award category at the Hoodlight Media Excellence Awards 2021. She is married to a pastor and they have two children together – one girl and one boy. Initially, Bernice had three children, two daughters and a son. However, She lost one of her daughters, her oldest child, Akua Nhyira, she had with a Ghanaian man who lives overseas on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
