Bill Asamoah was born on May 1, 1972, to Agya Asamoah and the late Mrs. Esther Owusu Assuming in Ashtown, Kumasi. He lived with his grandmother for some time when he was young and was raised by his stepmother after his parents divorced.

Bill’s biological mother, Mrs. Esther Owusu Assuming, passed away at age 64 on July 19, 2021. She was a native of Benim, Asante Mampong, Ashanti Region. She remarried and had children after leaving Bill’s dad.

Soon after completing his sixth form, Bill Asamoah became a teacher. He taught for many years and moved on to become a radio/television presenter at Fontomfrom Radio/TV in Asokwa.
How He Became an Actor
According to Bill Asamoah, at the time, he was a media personality, he closed from work one day, and he saw a group of people gathered just a few meters away from where his workplace was situated. He decided to go and see what was happening, and when he got there, the people were shooting a movie.
He states that he saw one of his friends, Asare Badiako, a movie producer, over there, and he decided to take one of the movie scripts from him and started reading it. With his delivery, everyone liked him and suggested he join the team.
Bill agreed to join and began his acting career with the drama club named “Ogyatanan.” He starred in a few series with the club and later landed his first movie role in a movie titled “Asem,” a movie produced by Miracle Films Productions. He appeared in the film with Santo and other big stars, and after that, he got the chance to star in different movies. He has starred in over a hundred Kumawood movies alongside stars like Nana Aba McBrown, Agya Koo, Maame Serwaa, and Yaa Jackson.
