Early Life & Family

Bola Ray Ghana was born in the Ashanti Region on March 1, 1977. He is 46 years old and comes from Obuasi, in the Ashanti Region. He is the son of Madam Gladys and John Kwame Adisi. Bola Ray has three siblings (brothers). He is the oldest among his siblings.

Education

Bola completed his junior high in Kumasi and moved to Accra to further his education at Accra Academy (SHS). He proceeded to the University of Ghana Business School and obtained a Diploma in Public Administration. However, when he was in Level 200 and moving to Level 300 at the University of Ghana, he pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Central University College. He graduated with an MBA in Global Business and Sustainability from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan (ALTIS) in 2015 and the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT).

Career

Bola started deejaying when he was in Accra Academy. He continued to the University of Ghana, and after completing the University, he did his National Service as an office Clerk at Radio Universe. Later, Bola Ray became the official DJ for the campus-based station and a radio host. He started radio in 1997 and hosted an afternoon show on Radio Universe.

He joined Top Radio after three years and hosted the Top City Jam on Top Radio. He was the first Ghanaian to host Top of the Pop on BBC radio. Bola transitioned to Joy FM in 2003 and hosted the drive-time show for eleven years. He also became the co-host of Music Music on TV3 Ghana.

In 2014, Bola Ray became the CEO of Kwabena Duffour’s EIB Network. Mr. Nathan Adisi was the first host of Starr Chat on Starr FM. He is still the CEO of EIB Network and now hosts his own show, “Revealed,” aired on GhOneTV.

Bola Ray won the Excellence in Radio and Television Award at the 3G Magazine Awards 2009, the Professional Radio and Presenter of the Year Award at Vector Recognition Award 2010, the Biggest Ghanaian Showbiz Executive Award at the City People’s Award 2014, and the 4th Most Influential Personality Award at Ghana’s Most Influential Awards 2014.

Also, in 2015, he won the Best Radio Personality (Greater Accra Region) Award and Radio Late Afternoon Show Host of the Year at the RTP Awards 2015. He won the International Media and Entertainment Personality of the Year at the GUBA Awards 2015, Ghana’s Favorite Celebrity, and Ghana’s Favourite Male Radio Presenter at the GN Awards 2015.

Bola won the Man of the Year (Communication) Award at the Exclusive Men of the Year Awards 2016, the Most Influential Entertainment Personality of the Year Award at the Shine Publications 2018, and the RTP Personality of the Decade Award (2010-2020) at the RTP Awards 2020.
