D Jay was born in Accra, Ghana, in the year 2002. He comes from a family of six (6), with him being the second child. He is 21 years old and hails from Senya Beraku in the Central Region of Ghana. Jay’s mother belongs to the Ga tribe in Ghana, and his father is a Fante. He had his primary and Junior High School education at Christian Home School in Dansoman, Accra, and proceeded to Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School for his high school education. Jay did General Arts at PRESEC, and currently, he is a student at the University of Ghana studying Information Studies and Music.

Music Journey
D Jay discovered his musical talent at age six (6). He also began writing his own songs at a very young age. He started making music professionally in 2019 when he was still in SHS.
He released his first official song in high school titled “Bo Norr.” The song was a hit as many pupils in his school, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, and other high schools loved it.
In 2020, a year after completing SHS, Jay dropped his debut EP, Mixed Feelings. After this EP, he featured Ghanaian drill and hip hop artiste Black Sherif on a track named “Joy.”
Later, he dropped another single titled “Take A Distance,” which featured Lalidmusic, Phronesis, Black Sherif, and Malcolm Nuna. In 2022, he released a hit song titled “Balance It.” He did a remix of “Balance It,” which featured Mr. Eazi.
D Jay has other songs like Morning Stress, Amina, and Moni, and apart from his mixed feelings EP, he has another Extended Play dubbed “Starman.”
