Gifty Anti was born on January 23, 1970, in Kyebi, Eastern Region of Ghana, to the late Samuel Christian Kofi Kyei Anti (Wofa Kyei) and Stella Aba Suma Idun. She grew up in Tema Community 8 with her dad and siblings after her parents separated when she was young. Gifty Anti is a Fante from Asempanyin in the Central Region of Ghana. She is the last born of eight (8) children. She is 53 years old.

Samuel Christian Kofi Kyei Anti and Stella Aba Suma Idun are the names of Gifty Anti’s parents. The late Samuel Christian Kofi Kyei Anti, Gifty’s father, was a Gold Coast Police officer and an Akyem man from Nkwantanang in the Eastern Region. Gifty’s late mother, Stella, was a dealer in second-hand clothing at Mankessim and a Fante woman from Asempanyin in the Central Region of Ghana.

Educational Background
Oheneyere attended Tema Community 8 “Number 1” Primary and Middle School. In 1984, she wrote the common examination and went to Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School in the Central Region, where she completed her sixth-form education. She served as an entertainment prefect at Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS.
After completing her sixth-form education, Gifty Anti had the desire to enter the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, but that couldn’t happen. She later studied Journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 1994, where she served as Women’s Commissioner.

Awo Dansoa/Oheneyere Gifty Anti currently holds a Master’s Degree in International Journalism from City University in London and has also attended a number of training courses at the United Nations and the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and had an internship at SABC-Africa in South Africa.

Media Journey
Oheneyere’s first broadcast experience was in 1995 when she became a regular panelist on two programmes, “New Generation” and “Every Woman,” on Joy FM.
She began her media journey as an Intern at the Ghanaian Times after she was asked to go and search for a story that was published in the Ghanaian Times Newspaper.
After completing the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Gifty Anti started her National Service at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in 1996. Whiles doing her service at GBC, she landed her first job as a Floor Manager on February 13, 1997, the day The Breakfast Show began airing.
After some time working as a Floor Manager, she became the host of the Breakfast Show and later became a newscaster, production assistant, and others. She worked at the GBC for seventeen years (including National Service) before starting her own talk show, “The Standpoint,” which addresses women’s issues.
