Jay Bahd was born on June 21, 1999, in Ashtown, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. He grew up in Ashtown and Dichemso. He was raised by his mom, with support from his father, who lived in the United States.
He is the only child of his biological parents, but his mum has given birth to five boys in addition to him, which means he has five half-brothers. Bhad is 24 years old and a native of Asante Mampong, in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Music Career
Jay Bahd has been a music lover from a young age. He used to listen to songs by Lord Kenya and other Legendary Ghanaian musicians. He began his professional music career in 2015. Bahd started making hip-hop music and was later introduced to the drill music genre by Reggie of the Asakaa music group in Ghana. He became known after Yaw Tog featured him, O’kenneth, and other members of Asakaa on his “Sore” song, which he released in 2020.
In November 2020, a few months after the release of “Sore,” Jay Bhad released his debut single “Condemn” ft. City Boy, O’kenneth, Reggie & Kwaku DMC. The song became a hit, and he came out with singles like Suzzy afterward. Later, after the Asakaa music group was formed, Jay’s journey to drill music began, and he was introduced to the genre by Reggie. Bhad started making drill music alongside hip-hop. He joined the Asakaa group, and he is still a member.
The group has members like City Boy, a family member, O’kenneth, Reggie, Kwaku DMC, Kawabanga, and others. Jay, together with the Asakaa boys, has toured different countries in Europe. They have been interviewed on BBC and other big platforms. He has over twenty songs to his credit now and an album dubbed “Return of Okomfo Anokye.” He was very close to the late Virgil Abloh and even made a song to pay tribute to him. Jay has met top hip-hop and drill musicians abroad and has worked with some of them, including American rapper The Game and French Female rapper Le Juiice.
