Kafui Danku is a Ghanaian filmmaker, entrepreneur, actress, and book author. She has two books, “Silence Is Not Golden” and “Silence Became Golden.” She has starred in movies like “I Do” and produced films like “Letter to My Mother.”

Kafui is also an advocate, philanthropist, content creator, and former beauty queen. She participated in Miss Ghana 2004, became a finalist, and in Miss Greater Accra 2004, which she won. She is a co-owner of ABC Limited, a film production company in Ghana.

Early Life & Family

Kafui was born on August 16, 1982, in the Volta Region. She grew up in Ho, and her hometown is Tanyigbe Etoe, a town we can find in Ho, the Volta Region of Ghana. Kafui has two siblings: a senior sister and a junior brother. Her parents are the late John Danku and Madam Agnes Asigbey (a retired Nurse).

Educational Background

She attended Mawuli Primary and Junior High School and continued at OLA Girls SHS. After completing OLA Girls, she proceeded to the University of Cape Coast for her tertiary education. She graduated from UCC with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.

Career

Danku started her career as a model. Her father wasn’t that cool with it, but he became supportive when he saw her participate in Miss Greater Accra 2004 on TV. Kafui Danku won the pageant, and a few months later, she joined the Miss Ghana 2004 contest, where she became a finalist.

Kafui began her professional acting career at the United Nations before she entered the Ghana Movie Industry in 2009. Her first movie in the Ghana movie industry is Agony of Christ, with casts like Majid Michel and Nadia Buari.

After many years of acting, in 2013, Kafui ventured into movie-making. She is the co-owner of ABC Limited (ABC Pictures GH), a film production that has produced movies like Devil in a Dress, Any Other Monday, Letter to My Mother, and Love and Crime. The company has won some awards for its Productions.

She also won Best Supporting Actress Of The Year in 2015 at the Extraordinary Ordinary People Awards, Best Lead Actress in 2015 at the Afrifomo Awards, and Media Personality Of The Year Award in 2018 at the West African Youth Awards.

Philanthropy

As a philanthropist, Kafui Danku has created the Dream Achievers Project to support young business visionaries in Ghana. She is giving a sum of GH¢50,000 to individuals with great business ideas but no capital.
