Early Life & Family Background
KiDi was born at Teshie Nungua, Accra, on August 18, 1993. He grew up in Teshie, Kaneshie, and Dansoman, which are all suburbs in Accra. He is 30 years old now and comes from Kwahu Abetifi in the Eastern Region. Kidi has two younger siblings, and he is the eldest child of his parents, Mr. Gerald Dwamena and Madam Beatrice Thompson.

Educational Background
The Afrobeat/Afropop musician started his education at Grace Preparatory School in Kaneshie, Accra. He completed junior at St. Anthony’s School in Accra. He completed UG in 2016 with a Degree in Economics and Information Studies.

Career
In 2015, Kidi went for the auditions for MTN Hitmaker Season 4. He made it into the competition, and in the end, he emerged as a winner. In 2016, a year after the reality show and after completing the University, he got signed to Lynx Entertainment, and he released his first song, “Say You Love Me,” which became a hit. Following his first release under Lynx, Kidi dropped another hit song titled “Odo” and did a remix of the song featuring Mayorkun and Davido. In 2019, he released a new single dubbed “Adiepena” and “Thunder,” a single off his debut Album, Sugar, which he dropped on May 31, 2019.
Kidi has two EPs now and two Albums to his credit. He has hit songs such as Touch It, Enjoyment, and Say Cheese. His Touch It song won him a platinum record in India. Also, “Touch It” is KiDi’s first song to accumulate 200+ streams on music streaming platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and TikTok.
