Career
Kofi Adjorlolo was a musician before he became a television and radio presenter and then an actor and film producer. Kofi started his music journey at a very young age. He decided to relocate to Nigeria when he was 20 years old so he could do more music stuff. In Nigeria, Adjorlolo performed on stage with Nigerian music legends like Felix Bell, also known as Ozimba of Africa, and Victor Uwaifo of Joromi fame, and also performed with some bands in Nigeria, like the Felix Aigbe Liberty Band.
He traveled to Togo with some of the bands to perform, and after some years, when he returned to Ghana, he formed the Osagyefo Band. However, before Adjorlolo formed his band, he was performing with the Daasebre Band and did stage backings for Ghanaian highlife legends like Nessa Simons and Gyedu Blay Ambolley. Adjorlolo was not only a singer but played instruments like the trumpet. He still plays the trumpet, including other musical instruments, but at home and in his free time.
Kofi Adjorlolo worked as a civil servant at the Ghana Post. He also worked at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation based in Accra. He was a continuity announcer and radio and TV presenter at GBC, and He hosted shows like the African Rhythms and Uncle Ben’s Kitchen. He contributed to establishing the “Channel R” Radio Station.
A few years later, Adjorlolo moved to Peace FM, where he was a marketing executive. However, acting found him when he was at the GBC. He wrote scripts for the Taxi Driver series, and when some cast decided not to continue to playing their role in the series, he was among the new actors that replaced the old ones. He became interested in acting, and with the support of Auntie Grace Nortey, he was featured in his first movie.
Kofi became popular after he featured in “My Mother’s Heart,” a film produced by actress and producer Salma Mumin. He has starred in many Ghanaian movies and has also had the chance to feature in Nigerian movies.
