Music Journey

Amewuga’s music journey began when he was in JHS 1. His musical career was influenced by his senior brother, Kwabena Lyta, who started his long before he did. Kwaku used to learn his brother’s rap and freestyled in front of his mates in school, which earned him some fans. However, in JHS 2, he decided to do something of his own.

He started writing his raps in Form 2, and the first he wrote was so creative that his mates had doubts that he had such songwriting skills. This motivated him to continue writing and chasing his music dreams. After completing junior high, anytime Kweku’s older brother Kwabena Lyta was billed for a show or concert in Sefwi, he allowed him to use a few minutes of his time to perform his rap on stage.

In addition, for any concerts or events his senior brother organized in Sefwi, he added him to the list of musicians to perform at the event. After every performance, the positive responses from people made him realize that he had to take the music thing very seriously. Therefore, Amewuga took his music career seriously when he enrolled in high school.

With support from his brother, Kwabena Lyta, he began recording songs in the studios during his high school days and dropped his first single while in school. He did his raps in Twi and the Sefwi language. In 2020, Kweku became known in the music industry in Ghana when he started joining rap challenges and dropping his rap freestyles on YouTube and most especially, on TikTok.

With his style of rap music, in which he uses word plays in his lyrics, Kweku Amewuga has gained a committed fan base who motivates him to still be consistent with his craft. He currently has one external play, the Young Landguard EP, and several singles to his credit.
