Biography

O’kenneth was born and raised in Suame, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was born on August 13, 1993. His mother is a native of Asokore Mampong, and his father comes from Pakyi, both towns in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Therefore, the Kumerican rapper hails from Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

Opoku had his education in the Ashanti Region and completed high school. He attended Tepa Senior High School in the Ashanti Region. He is unmarried and has no children. However, he is in a relationship. Ygb O’kenneth started his music journey at Tepa Senior High School and has been making music professionally since 2016. He was inspired by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, and he started with rap freestyle.

He is a member of Asakaa, a drill music group in Kumasi that was formed after random guys came around to record at the trap house, thus the Life Living family home studio in Kumasi owned by Sean Lifer and Rabby Jones. O’kenneth gained recognition in the Ghana music industry in 2020 with his verse on the songs of members of Asakaa, like Sean Life’s “Ma Drip” and Jay Bahd’s “Condemn.”

He was later featured on Yaw Tog’s “Sore” and Kawabanga’s “Akatafoc” track, which made Asakaa very popular in Ghana and other countries. Yga has released several songs, and he currently has four External Plays. Among these four EPs, one is a solo EP, and the other three are joint EPs, two with Reggie, a member of the Asakaa group, and one with Xlimkid.
