He started lumbering work with his Chainsaw but was unsuccessful at the job. He then decided to go back to selling musical Cassettes, and after several years of doing this business, he established PEACE FM, his first radio station. This radio station started operations in January 1999 and has years later helped set up other stations like NEAT FM, OKAY FM, and HELLO FM.
Now, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite can boast of many companies in different sectors. He owns ANTONA FOODS Limited, manufacturers of “This Way Products,” NEAT FOODS Limited, producers of ”
Neat Fufu, Neat Plantain, Neat Hausa Koko, Neat palm nut, and Neat Cocoyam. He is also the owner of Despite Stores in the Ashanti Region.
There are other companies he co-owns with his good friend Ernest Ofori Sarpong, who many think is a brother to the business mogul. These companies he co-owns are United Television (UTV), a TV station in Ghana, U2 Company Limited, producers of U2 Iodated Salt, and Best Point Savings and Loans Limited, which has branches in different regions in Ghana.
Apart from these companies, Despite has other investments and properties in the Greater Accra Region and Ashanti Region. He owns a big mansion at East Legon in Accra and drives cars like Bugatti Chiron worth about three (3) million dollars, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, Bugatti La Voiture Noire, Rolls-Royce Sweptail, and other expensive vehicles.
