Mubarak Wakaso was a young boy when he began playing football in Tamale. He participated in many sporting activities organized in school, took part in milo competitions, and at J.H.S 2, he joined Ashanti Gold Academy in Obuasi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wakaso was 12 years old when he joined Ashanti Gold Academy. After some years, he moved to the senior side Ashanti Gold Sporting Club, where he spent three years before signing for Elche in Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mubarak Wakaso signed a five-year contract with Elche CF in Spain in 2008. In late January 2011, after several bouts of indiscipline and internal codes violations, he was released by the Valencians.
