Strongman was born on February 10, 1993, in Buokrom in the Ashanti Region of Ghana to Madam Lawreshia Tagoe, a.k.a Adwoa Ahyia, and Mr. Owusu, a.k.a Capito. He grew up in Buokrom and was raised by his parents and grandmother. He is 30 years old and a native of Buokrom.<\/p>\n

Music Journey<\/h3>\n

Strongman Burner was a footballer before he became a rapper. He started playing football when he was at the primary school level. Burner began his rap career in high school at T.I. AMASS. He engaged in rap battles in SHS, and when he went to the University, he participated in rap freestyle competitions on radio and Television.<\/p>\n

In 2010, he won the Focus FM Freestyle Friday, a program hosted on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus-based radio station, Focus FM, in Kumasi. In 2011, he emerged as the champion of the KFM Freestyle Saturday hosted by James Akwasi Oberko, popularly known as Jamester, on KFM in Kumasi.<\/p>\n

On November 16, 2012, Burner won the maiden edition of the Next Big Thing in GH Hip-hop, a rap competition that was organized by CharterHouse in Accra and shown GhOne Television. After winning this competition, he signed his first record label deal with MicBurnerz Music in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n

Strongman caught rapper Sarkodie’s interest years after signing to MicBurnerz Music record label, and in 2017, he was signed to his record label Sarkcess Music. He worked with Sarkcess Music for two years before becoming an independent artist. He now owns a record label called Strong Empire.<\/p>\n
