Rap Journey<\/h3>\n

Sarkodie began his rap journey at the age of four. He was influenced to become a rapper at this age because of his love for rap songs. He listened to rap songs from Ghanaian rap legends like Obrafuor, Lord Kenya, and Reggie Rockstone.<\/p>\n

At Great MEDASS, where King Sark attended high school, he participated in rap battles in school and performed at events held in Tema and other areas as an underground rapper. Later, he participated in the Saturday Hiplife\/rap show Kasahare Level hosted by Dr. Duncan after its launch on Adom 106.3 FM in 2002.<\/p>\n

Sarkodie, on the Kasahare Level show for some time, became a favorite of Dr. Duncan, who later became his manager. Also, while on the show, he met Edem and Castro, who introduced him to Legendary Ghanaian record producer Edward Nana Poku Osei, aka Hammer of the Last Two. Sark impressed Hammer with his rap talent, and he was made to record two songs for Edem’s first album, “Volta Regime,” released in 2009.<\/p>\n

Following Sarkodie’s collaboration with Hammer, he recorded and dropped his first album, “Makye,” in 2009. He has eight albums now as an individual artist and one joint album with JaySo. Sark has released several songs and won many awards (local and international awards).<\/p>\n
