Jordan Ayew is a Ghanaian International Footballer. He plays for the Ghana National team, the Black Stars, and club side Crystal Palace F.C. He is from a football home and is the son of Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele, whose name remains in African football history as one of the greatest soccer stars of all time.

Jordan Ayew also has a brother named André Dede Ayew, who is the captain of the current Black Stars team, which he also plays for, and another brother called Rahim Ayew, who once played for the senior national team.

Jordan Ayew was born in Marseille, France, on September 11, 1991. He was brought to Ghana at age 2-3 and was raised here in Ghana by his grandparents. He lived with his grandparents because his mum, Maha Ayew, and his senior brother, Dede Ayew, were often outside Ghana with his father, Abedi Pele, who was playing football abroad. Jordan only got to join his father on his trips when the ‘African Maradona’ was bringing his football career to a close. He watched his father play in one or two games before he retired.

Before Jordan Ayew started playing football, he was an athlete, and he used to race with a few friends in the neighborhood where he grew up in Ghana. He developed the love for football naturally through watching football games on television. He started playing football in his hood, and later, Jordan joined a team in Ghana where he played against older teammates. He moved to France later on and joined Lyon Duchére Youth Academy, where he began preparing for a bright football career. Jordan spent six years at the Academy. He also got the opportunity to join the Olympique de Marseille Academy when he was 13.

Club Career

Olympique de Marsaille

J. Ayew started his professional football career at Marseille. He was officially signed to the club in the year 2009. He played his first match for the club against Lorient with his senior brother André, who had already signed onto the team. Jordan scored the equalizer for his team Marseille at the 68′ as they won by 2-1. It was his first goal as well for the football club. His number goal number 2 was in their next game against OGC Nice. He netted a goal for Marseille in the 78′, and his brother André got a hat trick in the match. He also played in the game against Stade Brestois, his third game, and scored 59′, which ended 2-0. At Marseille, Jordan scored 14 goals for the club.

FC Sochaux

Jordan Ayew later joined Sochaux on loan from Olympique de Marseille until the end of the 2013-2014 season. He scored 5 goals for FC Sochaux during the 2013/2014 season and joined Lorient in 2014.

FC Lorient

Jo joined FC Lorient on July 28, 2014, and scored 12 goals during the 2014/15 season for the club. In 2015, he joined Aston Villa F.C.

Jordan Ayew, on September 5, 2010, got a call-up to play for Ghana. He featured in his first match for the senior national team during the 2012 AFCON Qualifications against Swaziland, which saw Ghana win by 3-0. However, his first international goal for Ghana was at the 2014 World Cup Qualification against Lesotho at the Kumasi Sports Stadium in the Ashanti Region Of Ghana.
