However, in 2015, after completing high school and waking up one day from sleep, he realized his tongue had increased in size in his mouth. That made breathing difficult for him, so he went to the pharmacy to get some medication to help reduce the size of his tongue, but to no avail.

Later, he went to the hospital with his auntie, Rukayatu Saali, and the doctor told him that he was suffering from gigantism, a condition that causes abnormal growth in humans. Abdul was advised to do surgery that would reduce the pace at which he grows tall, but there was no money to take care of his hospital bills. He was 8 feet in May 2021 when he granted an interview with Mahmud Mohammed-Nurudeen of Joy News, but now he has a height of 9 feet 6 inches.
Sulemana has affirmed that every three or four months, he increases in height. His sudden increase in height, which started on a sad note for him, has now made him famous. He has pictures with Ghanaian politicians, entertainers, and security personnels, and at every event, he attends in Ghana people love to take shots with him because of his height.
